For lovers of the freshest of air and the finest pleasures in life, the French Alps are fabulous. Welcome to a peak experience in Megève.

If you have a passion for the mountains, we have a place for you. Our Alpine homes, in Combloux and Megève, offer chalets with exceptional charm. The latest home in our Premium collection, L'Alpage Chalet, is in the exclusive Demi-Quartier. Properties here have more room to breathe and offer views of the Mont-Blanc range to marvel over.

Megève understands the power of a dream destination. In winter, it can feel as if you’ve landed in a fairytale. Its cobbled streets allow horse-drawn carriages but not cars to pass by its boutiques and impressive restaurants in a town all centred around a 13-th century church. Its backdrop of stunning Alpine scenery, with over 400 km of ski runs, is a winter wonderland that caters to skiers of all levels. This is one of the best resorts in the French Alps in terms of all-round skiing and the best for elegant glamour. Small but perfectly formed for gourmands - there are three Michelin star restaurants here.

The resort itself is less ideal for adrenaline-filled challenges and more of a great ‘all-rounder’ with pistes suited to all abilities, with a slow  green, peaceful blue or a slightly more challenging red right by the Les Aravis Chalet. They’re also known as some of France’s sunniest. Other plus points include relatively short lift queues and less crowded pistes than at other large resorts, plus plenty of  family-friendly ski schools too. Its off-piste is a winner, with visibility protected by the tree-lined forest runs.

When the snow melts, the mountains are full of sporty life, with options from hiking and mountain biking to paragliding and golfing. Hotair ballooning is an all-year-round treat, considering the scenery. Summer sees Megève host the prestigious ‘Jumping International’ equine event and an entire weekend full of jazz music.  All that activity and the mountain air adds up to a healthy appetite. Satiate it with raclette, tartiflette, and everything from pizza to Michelin starred dining here. Le Flacons de Sel is among many memorable restaurants, such as the De Rothschild-owned L'Auberge de la Cote. The club Jazz des 5 Rues has live music and a buzzy atmosphere.

If you’re here for summer, Megève is gaining a reputation as a wellness destination, with Parisians visiting for hikes and hammams. You’ll find many award-winning spas here such as Le Spa du M. Its Turkish hammam is cut into the rocks. The historic former spa town of St-Gervais-Les-Bains links into Megèrve ski areas, and is worth a trip for its  cutting-edge spa Les Thermes, managed by L’Oréal. A charming town centre with belle époque buildings makes this a trip a pleasure too.

Gin fans among you may appreciate that St Gervais is home to the highest gin distillery in Europe.  Scotsman James Abbott, a former pilot, left Kelso five years ago to make gin in an old donkey shed. Abbott has presented President Macron with a €45 bottle of Le Gin du Mont Blanc and says. “The locals really welcomed me to the town after I’d had some tough times. Now I can ski in the mornings and make gin and whisky in the afternoons.”Not just for skiing, the French Alps offer pleasures galore. Back at your August home, there is space to cosy up and unwind after exploring.
