"A Dream Come True"

Homeowners, Hilde and Hendrik, reflect on their memorable stay in Montecatini and share their first impressions of the Premium Collection farmhouse.

Last week we had the honour to be the first Homeowners to spend a couple of sunny holidays in the new Premium villa - Via di Riaffrico - in Tuscany and we are over the moon with this experience. The August team have really (over) delivered on this promised luxury home away from home.

In real estate, location is everything and Montecatini is such a good choice! It has style, charm, gastronomy and all else you look for in a real Tuscan small city and it’s so close to the culture and history of Florence, Pisa, Lucca and Pistoia. Montecatini very quickly became ‘our’ Italian city, where we could see the world passing by, having breakfast in Pasticceria Gioavannini.

Our villa is situated in the hills overlooking Montecatini with an amazing panorama and unspoiled views on Buggiano Castello and Montecarlo. With it’s south-facing orientation, we’re covered by sunshine from the early mornings until sunset; it’s hard to select between the wonderful pool and the 3 terraces to soak up some needed vitamin D. The big and well maintained garden has so many flowers plus many olive trees; we can’t wait to try out our own olive oil next winter.

Inside the house we were just amazed by the beauty of the house and the way it has been restored and decorated in the ‘August way’. The big kitchen and dining area, the hallways, the 3 sitting areas, the 5 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms; every room in this house has been gifted with its own character. We just couldn’t decide which room to sleep in.

Our conclusion: we loved it (we didn’t want to leave) and will return in spring, summer, autumn and winter for many years to come. Hassle-free co-ownership of beautiful holiday houses has been such a great investment in our quality of life.

We’re now looking forward to discovering the 4 other homes of this amazing August Premium Collection in the South of France, Mallorca, the French Alps and the Cotswolds later this year.
