“When we discovered August, we just fell in love with the concept and immediately saw the transparency of the business model. We totally understand it, as it's just great that we can see where exactly it comes from, what motivates August. As a member of boat syndication, I was already familiar with the concept of co-ownership. The possibility of being able to co-own properties just made sense for us, especially as we're on the other side of the world.”

Leah and Peter have been fortunate enough to visit four of the homes in Europe - which they called “August Property Audit Run Around”! As homeowners of the Signature Collection, they now have a Provençal villa, Tuscan farmhouse, English cottage in The Cotswolds, ski chalet apartment in Chamonix and a Balearic island home in Mallorca.

We wanted to take you on this journey with them to showcase what it truly means to be an August homeowner - through the lens of Leah and Peter.

Tuscan farmhouse

Leah and Peter first visited their farmhouse in Tuscany and they fell in love with the property as they walked in. It was such a special moment as they finally got to experience their new homes after only seeing pictures of them before. “We are totally impressed with the Villa, decoration, layout and planning as well as the overall presentation of the property. Brilliant job August!”

The couple had a fantastic time in Tuscany, taking in the endless panoramic views from this exceptional farmhouse and enjoying the local delicacies - they won’t disappoint you!

Idyllic cottage in The Cotswolds

Leah and Peter have a daughter who now lives and works in London. When they became August homeowners, their daughter was particularly excited about The Cotswolds home which they have been looking forward to visiting. The Cotswolds is a great getaway from London’s hustle and bustle and such an easy drive away as well.

“We found the cottage very cosy, beautifully decorated. The dining and bedrooms are lovely, we love the colours and homewares, to make all very comfortable.” They visited Stow-on-the-Wood which they truly enjoyed - “it was a great Cotswolds experience in one spot.” The cottage is so conveniently located that only a short walk away, our homeowners can access the local cafes that also do Yoga & Coffee on Fridays and Saturdays.

Provençal Villa in Valbonne

After Cotswolds, Leah and Peter had next lined up a visit to the French Riviera home in Valbonne. Before the pandemic, they were planning to buy their second home in France. They had planned a 2-month holiday to view properties and understand where exactly to purchase their European second home. Unfortunately, Covid hit just before their holiday and Australia was put on lockdown so their holiday got cancelled. Therefore, their second home search was put on hold. Luckily shortly after they discovered August and our flexible co-ownerships were the perfect match for them.

“Our first day in our August French Villa, this one has been my favourite on paper and oh my goodness, it hasn’t let us down. The villa is just beautiful, from the moment you enter through the gates, through the front door and out into the garden. It is refine, and relaxing with a touch of modern elements. The homewares, styling and extras are well sympatico of a French Villa. The outdoor entertaining areas are fantastic, perfect for easily hosting a group of friends. We are having a BBQ tonight to celebrate we got here.”

They thoroughly enjoyed their French holidays, thanks to the amazing location that offers plenty to do. “It has been so delightful to spend time here. You can do as much as you want with many interesting places to visit and explore. Or, you can spend time whilling away the property, enjoying the sun & pool, which is exactly what we did. Just so lovely to relax and sit in the sun after coming out of an Australian winter. The villa is 10/10 for position and setting, we loved every minute of staying here.”

Ski chalet apartment in Chamonix

“Breathtaking”, the apartment is located in the centre of the pedestrian shopping area, shops

and restaurants are but a few steps away. The apartment is designed to a high and luxurious standard - the upstair bedrooms are spacious and stylish with all mod cons and the bathrooms are a standout. Not to mention the private sauna, a perfect addition in a luxury setting. Most importantly, the views from the main living room and balcony are something else. Looking straight out on to two massive ski jumps is impressive but you raise your gaze to the incredible mountain of Mont Blanc, glaciers and the jagged peaks of the French Alps, it’s breathtaking.

“We loved experiencing the Apartment during the off-season, gave us time to explore the surrounding areas and understand the skiing set up, access and what other interests are on offer so when we go next time to attack the slopes we know how things work. Experiencing Chamonix during the winter season will be very special, we cannot wait.”

Island home in Mallorca
