Chamonix Ski season runs from December to May each year, dust off the ski's and have some fun on the slopes!
Every year usually, the 1st or 2nd weekend in December, depending on snow coverage pistes open, lifts whir back into action and the town comes to life with opening parties and the 1st apres-ski sessions of winter.
When: December
The sun is out by early May, and Chamonix is ready to bid farewell to winter with a closing party at Grand Montets. This usually falls on the first Saturday of May, by midday the snow is generally slushy and soft. You’ll find the grill being fired up, the music is turned up, and the drinks start flowing. If you’re feeling particularly daring, you can try out the water slide in the mountains!
