What to do
About

This cog railway weaves its way up from Saint-Gervais, Le Fayet, via Les Houches, to the Nid d’Aigle (The Eagle’s Nest) at 2,372m, passing through meadows, pastures, and small mountain lakes.

Three trains, each painted in a different colour: blue, red, and green, operate the tram line. The trains were given names of the owner’s daughters in 1957, Anne, Marie, and Jeanne. Along with the Montenvers Train in Chamonix, the Tramway du Mont Blanc (also known as TMB or Mont Blanc Tramway) is one of France’s last mountain rack-rail trains and the tallest railway in the Haute- Savoie region of France. This cog railway weaves its way up from Saint-Gervais, Le Fayet, via Les Houches, to the Nid d’Aigle (The Eagle’s Nest) at 2,372m, passing through meadows, pastures, and small mountain lakes.
